Bologna 13th to 19th March 2011

Day I: 13th March 2011

We met at the train station at 10 o' Clock and went to Cologne-Bonn airport. We took the plane to Bologna. When we arrived, there was a reception committee and we got picked up by our host families. In the evening, we met the dutch students at an Italien girl's house, because they had organized a small welcome- party for us.


Day II: 14th March 2011

In the morning, we met at Liceo Galvani and the Italian students gave a short presentation about the school and Bologna. After the lunch, we had a guided tour through the city, during which we saw the old churches of Bologna. In the evening, we went out with all the students, also with these from Estonia and Verona.


Day III: 15th March 2011

We took a walk through a beautiful park of a villa called 'Villa Spada', where we had to read a map and find some special animals, trees and sculptures. We learned a lot about the environment. On the top of the hill of the park, we had a beautiful view on the city of Bologna. Later, we went to see the city center and ate one of Italy's famous ice-creams.


Day IV: 16th March 2011

In the morning, we went to a museum of the Chalk Cliffs Nature Park and learned something about the constitution of the cliffs. Than we took a short walk during which we could see them in all their beauty. After an organized lunch in a very good restaurant, we went on a trip to see the biggest gypsum cave in Europe. We went into it and discovered the dark, muddy cave. In the evening, we all went to some amazing parties which were organized because of the 150th Day of Independence.


Day V: 150th Day of Independence

We were picked up by a bus, which brought us to 'Museo della Vialli' and we learned something about the river which runs
through Bologna and about it's two canals. Then, we went into
the Regional Park with binoculars and did some birdwatching. It was the first day, on which the weather was good. In the evening, one of the Italian students invited all of us to come to his house,
where we ate lasagne and talked to each other.


Day VI: 18th March 2011

We went to Florence, which is also called 'Firenze' and which is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. The students of liceo Galvani prepared some presentations and gave us some information about the famous churches and places in the town. Then, we were free to see the city on our own. Because it was the last evening, all the students met at a pizzeria and enjoyed the famous Italian pizza.


Day VII: Day of Departure

All of the German students met in the city center to do some shopping. Then, we got picked up by our host families for lunch. Later, they brought us to the airport. When we arrived in Germany, we missed our train, so that we arrived at Bielefeld at 11 o' Clock p.m. but we were very tired, so that we couldn't enjoy the time on the train. At the train station, all of our parents were waiting for us.
